Reality shows

Whatever is happening to the television shows, after few years, only reality shows will exist. Big BASH, Swa-yum-WAR, Purrrrfect b'RIDE, Husband, Wife and the Poor baby. Once upon a time, the whole country was glued to their TV sets from 10pm to 11pm on the weekdays, to watch the Saas-bahu saga. The day it was came to an end or forced to end, the channels lost its viewers to movie and music channel. But the reality shows are trying to get hold of the TRPs by trying to create a fake controversy every now and then. Even judges on the show try to fight with each other and walk out, only to come back after the restroom break JJJ.

When this trend had started, I really believed that they were not following some kinda script and behaving their way. The first time I felt that the concept of reality shows are completely fake, when they focused on a love affair, which dissolved as soon the couple was out of the show. Now, a love affair is must in their show, so each season they select a couple who can fake a relationship. They started with a love affair in the first season, in the second season they showed a triangular love story, now the third season might go ahead and show quadrangular love story JJJ. This season, India's biggest superstar, and my favorite, is going to host the show, which will definitely give a boost to the channel TRPs.

Searching for a groom is such a tedious task these days, that the bride announces on television asking the prospective grooms to marry her. Bet her relatives are on strike or parted ways with her. And after getting engaged with one of them, she ends the whole affair saying "Irreconcilable differences". After this huge drama on screen and off screen, the show is planning to have its Season 2, with another celebrity, who came into limelight only after his dad's murder, drug abuse, divorce and a triangular love story in another reality show. If he wants to get married, he should be ready with all the answers, before even matching the horoscopes or for that matter even before going live. Till now, all the intelligent viewers of the show must have come to know that, the contestants are truly after fame and bollywood. One of the contestants had openly confessed that he had come to the show for fame and to become an actor in bollywood. This doesn't make sense, when people who state that they are businessmen, engineers, lawyers, etc. make it to these so called reality shows. It only shows that people are ready to do anything and everything for fame. In one such show, the grooms are searching for their future better half, they are judging the brides along with their mom. In one of the episodes, a girl was rejected on the basis of her skin color. Such an act can only increase the sale of fairness creams. Internationally, there have been issues with this color discrimination, wherein Indians are facing problems. And, this show in which only Indians are participating, rejecting their very own people on the basis of skin color just adds to the myth that fairer skin are better people. When people from our land are upto such antics, what should we expect from people abroad.

Kids are so cute, how can anyone make them cry, that too for a TV show. Couples who are not even married are part of such a show where they have to take care of the kid. Agreed it is difficult to take care of a kid, but then kids are comfortable with their parents and people who they see daily. Suddenly if you give away the kid to someone unknown, what do you expect from the kid, to behave? Pity those kids who are part of the show!!!

Every emotion can be duplicated these days. Believing in anything or anyone is so tough these days. Trust is soon going to be extinct from the human community. So it is better not to take any lessons from such shows and watch them for fun. These shows can be viewed like comedy shows, this is what I keep telling people JJJ.
