Five days just flew by like few hours. The trip to Goa was the best trip, I had ever been on. Before going, I was wondering, going with a large group will create problems with expenses, plans, food. But, everyone was so adjusting and so open. Basically, everyone wanted to relax during the trip, be it chatting for hours together or staying in the swimming pool or walking on the beach. There were 2 toddlers with us. I was wondering if they were going to be comfortable during the trip. But, they were so good, enjoying every bit, but they wanted to enjoy everything more than anyone. And that’s when they get cranky.
We had booked train tickets to Madgaon, so that we get to play cards, do tp in the train. We had packed dinner from home and started at 22:00, by train from CST. As, we entered the train, we all were so hungry, but we were waiting for 2 more people, who were going to get in at a later station. As soon as they came in, we pounced on the food and within minutes, the food vanished. After that, we went on to decide, what should be done to while away the time. And we decided to play cards. Judgemental!!! Mental because we were making other passengers mental by screaming while playing. It was the best part of the trip, as I got to learn a new game. Finally, after staring at us, the neighbor uncle shouted at us. After which we started speaking softly, and that’s how we started feeling sleepy. After playing few rounds, we all went off to sleep.
Around 7AM, we reached Madgaon. We had booked a tempo traveler to go to our accommodation. After dumping our luggage in it, we headed to Calangute. On the way, we stopped at CCD, only to get coffee. We were the first customers and were a bit early for the first order. After having coffee and choco biscuits, we continued our journey. When we reached, the villa which we had booked was not ready, and was being cleaned. So, we kept our luggage at another villa and headed to the beach for breakfast. After browsing through various shacks, we decided to eat at a decent looking one. The food was awesome. We had bread & masala omelet, others had sandwich, potato pillow, scrambled eggs. We finally felt content after 2 hours. By that time, our 7 BHK villa was ready. As we entered, I could see, how big and spacious it was. The villa was fully furnished, with a huge LCD, dining table for 10 people, washing machine, fully equipped kitchen, pool table, AC rooms, a swimming pool outside. The villa was fantabulously fantastic. A perfect place to chill out, relax, have fun, stretch your legs and go off to a peaceful sleep. The swimming pool was a plus point. We could go for a dip, anytime of the day and no one is going to say anything about it. After dumping our luggage, we went for lunch on the beach. By then, 2 of our friends had also reached. The sun was strong enough to tan anyone. But who cares, we are on a vacation! We looked in various shacks, and finally decided to go for the one, which could accommodate all of us. Goa means fish-time. We ordered pompret, king prawns, surmai, breezer, beer, rice and fish curry. The food was not that great as the fish wasn’t fresh enough. But, we enjoyed each other’s company. The kids were enjoying the sand and we were enjoying the place. After a long lunch, we sat by the beach viewing the sunset. Sunsets are always beautiful, they are hope for all of us, that there will be a new day tomorrow. After digging the sand for some time, and creating a few castles, which got kicked by the kids, we head back to the villa. It was time for a dip. The swimming pool water was cold. After the initial chills, everyone entered the pool. The best part of the pool was that it had a baby pool too, where the kids can play. We played throw-ball which later turned into hit-ball, hitting anyone who is unaware of the attack. Soon, we got hungry, so we got out of the water and got ready for dinner. Dinner was pompret, surmai, rice and fish curry. There was a pool table in our villa. After playing pool, everyone dozed off. We had decided to go have a bath in the sea, early morning. The weather was cool, and the sun was not at all harsh. The water was clean like the beach. Not that cold, just the right temperature. After staying in the water for 2 hours, which felt like 1 hour, we headed back. Omlette, bread and cheese spread what else can you ask for breakfast. We had bought food from the supermarket so that we can have it for breakfast. And one of our friend’s uncle had visited us, who brought lots of bananas. So, we were fully equipped with food. By afternoon, we had two cars, and one scooter on rent. This made travelling easier. For lunch, we went to a restaurant just next to Taj. I don’t remember the name, that’s the only landmark I know. We ordered food and they took ages to prepare it and serve us. And we were all hungry lions, ready to pounce on them. We had pompret, surmai, goa curry and rice, and chicken starters. The food was good, so we didn’t growl and roar, we ate like mice. We were happy kids after lunch. After a long photo session, we decided to head. On our way back, we went to Agauda Fort. We reached there around 5, and the closing time was 5:30. The fort is quite old, and not in a good shape. People have scribbled on the walls of the fort, declaring their love for their partners. Wonder, how does that work! We came out sooner than our friends, and had lemon juice. It had been such a long time, that I had juice from a roadside stall. It was refreshing as we were dehydrated in the fort. Soon, we headed back home. Time for a dip in the swimming pool. Playing in the pool for hours together and never content, that’s how we felt. We went to a nearby restaurant for dinner. The non-vegetarians were crazy for fish. Surmai, pompret and prawns curry with rice. The staple diet in Goa for us. We picked up ice-cream from Baskin Robbins and headed back. I got a scooter ride from hubby. Seemed scary. I was silent throughout the ride. It was just a 2 mins ride, but my heart was in my mouth. It has been a long time, since I have been on a bike and even my hubby was riding it after a long time. As we reached home, we attacked the ice-cream until it was licked out of the box. We followed the same routine next day as well. Unfortunately, one of our friends lost a gold pendant. We couldn’t find it even after we sent search operation group underwater. Next day, we left for south Goa. Bye bye super-villa.
